In the early 1990s British cycling was an irrelevance on the world stage. Yet by the Beijing Olympics in 2008 it had turned itself into the most feared track squad in the sport. British riders dominated on road and velodrome, in the shape of Team GB, Bradley Wiggins and Team Sky. This dramatic turnaround was driven by visionary leaders: Peter Keen, Dave Brailsford, Shane Sutton, Chris Boardman, Steve Peters and a supporting cast of coaches and riders. But how? Simply by good luck and Lottery funding? A happy meeting of minds? As the medals and yellow jerseys piled up, the questions started to pile up too. Was the regime at British Cycling a healthy one? Did staff and riders at Team Sky (later INEOS) bend the rules to breaking point? Were allegations of bullying, sexism and drug use well-founded? This book will tell the story from pre-Lottery amateurism to post-2014 meltdown, talking to all the major players through those tumultuous years.

Book condition
An important factor of a second-hand book is the condition of the book. The buyer may not be surprised. Always mention damages or defects. We use a system with 3 stars:
The book is acceptable: you have used it to study and made notes and markings – but everything is still readable. The cover and pages are in good condition.
The book still looks good: there are a few notes in it and you marked it. There are hardly any signs of use on the cover and pages
The book is (almost) new: you have not written or marked in it. There are no signs of use on the cover and pages
